easter

Happy Easter!  This is the fun Peeps Sunflower Cake we made last night.  It was so easy!  We were all laughing saying that the peeps laid the eggs that fell to the bottom of the cake.
We went to "Maumee's Biggest Easter Egg Hunt" yesterday.  It was sponsored by Toledo's Calvary church.  It was insane!  The event was free, so people came out in droves.  It boasted over 60,000 eggs, face painting, inflatables, huge giveaways, pony rides, etc.  We were there about 2 hours.  We took away some fun memories, a little sunburn as well as a tiger and a butterfly - very cute.

While waiting in line for the face painting, the kids ran to the wall and back several times to keep themselves entertained.

LOVE that cake! This is the first year that I did not buy the "token peeps". nobody likes them here but I usually make sure that we always have them since they are what Easter candy has been about for so many years ;). I'll have to try that cake out--btw did I tell you I really like your food blog! I need to get some recipes off of there to try some new things. Happy Easter, hope your day is wonderful!!

I agree--looks like a professional cake! Also looks like the kids had fun at that Easter activity! That's sure is a lot of eggs on the lawn. I'm glad it was warm enough to enjoy the weather outside!! Bring on spring:) I'm sure you're ready after the long and dreary winter.
