Quinny was promised two things for learning to use the toilet.
- For going #1 ten times she got a unicorn pillow pet. This goal was accomplished rather quickly.
- For going #2 ten times she was to get her ears pierced. This goal, no matter how much you want it, takes a little more time. After much persistence, she made it to ten (and beyond), so off to the mall we went.
Here she is ready for the pink earrings that she had picked out.
Piercing #1
Piercing #2
She announced to all standing around her (the entire family) that it hurt! She really only cried for a second. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of her admiring herself in the mirror. She was very proud of her new bling.
She is also very proud of her new bathroom skills. She has told me several times how happy she is about going potty. We are all happy, Quinny!
Later we split up to get some food for dinner. We left Haley, Robyn, Eric, and Mia at a table eating while Robert and I got a different kind of food. When we returned, Mia was covering her mouth and refusing to eat. I knew immediately what the problem was. I've been calling her Mater (from the movie Cars) for at least two days. She's had a front tooth dangerously dangling making it difficult to eat. When she opened her mouth to show us the tooth, it was barely holding on. Wasting no time, Robert grabbed a napkin and then grabbed her tooth. Just like that, it was out!
There was no crying involved, just laughter.
Now we have a cute little jack-o-lantern for Halloween, and Mimi can ask Santa for some new bucky-beaver teeth.
